Double Training is Back

I went out for 3 miles on Monday just to loosen the legs after the cross country around the route that I enjoy doing. I did the course in 26.41 to see how I would fair in the Brass Monkey at the weekend. I thought if I could keep that pace up I would do the Brass Monkey in under 2 hours something to look forward to. I then went to the club on the Monday night to see what Rob had planned for us to do. Did the warm up as usual, we then did 2 sets of pyramids 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 2, 1, then 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. I did struggle with the pyramids and tried to keep up with Alan and to do it at faster pace but I was getting more and more tired the more we did the pyramid. We did two sets of circuits where I only struggled on two of the exercises where I couldn’t do the 90s exercise and we had to do the plank on the side so I did the normal plank and changed the 90s exercise to sit ups. Rest day Tuesday. Back to the club on Wednesday where we did the normal warm up with two sets of circuits, I did think that the circuits were taking forever. I was getting very tired and bored and not done many of each exercise. We did three sets of 4 minutes with a 1 minute and 2 minute rest in between each set I did 6 lengths at a consistant pace until the last set of four minutes where I was starting to get tired and had to put more effort in on the last 10 second to keep my 6 lengths up and not be lazy and just do 5 half length. For the second Thursday in a row David cancelled the session so I went out on Friday instead for 2.6 miles run in the rain just to loosen the legs ready for the Brass Monkey on Sunday. I ended up with a cold on Saturday which take my running to 18.7 miles and my walking to 20 miles no biking again due to the bike been broken.

Tuesday - Rest or Cross Train - rest
Wednesday - Morning: Rest Evening : Club
Thursday - 4 mile steady – David cancelled run
Friday – Rest - 2.6 miles
Saturday - Rest
Sunday - Brass Monkey - 13.1 miles
