Thirsk Evening League
The week started with me going to the running club on Monday night. We
started off with a bit of fun with the bean bag while warming up with high
knee, back filp and many more different exercises. We then got into the
session, got into groups of 5, we ran to the first cone and back and the same
to second and third cone and back to the start. Sonja then put us in groups of
4 for short recovery we did the same going back down so start at the third cone
and back down to the first cone. I still put effort in even though I was
running on Tuesday night we did a cool down and finish the session. I had a
rest on Tuesday and didn’t do much all day so that I could do a good time on
Tuesday night. I set off at a good pace from the flats and out on to Sowerby Road
and down to World End where I started with a nose bleed and wouldn’t stop
bleeding until I had passed Ken for the second time, we then came out by the
tip and ran back across the field where I passed Christine just before the
finish and I still beat Ian and Richard. I did have a good run and found
running the miles easy but coming back through the field at the end a bit hard
going on the legs, but did think I could have done another 5 half miles again.
I did take Ken Evitt’s advice on Tuesday night when we were coming back from
the evening league just to do a recovery jog. So on Wednesday night I went out
on a run and only managed 6.1 miles and had a bad back and was tired when I
finished, it was more of slow jog back home. I then had a rest from running on
Thursday, Friday and Saturday only did a few miles walking each day. I went on
Sunday night where I was only going to do 7 miles and ended up doing 8.36 miles
at Avg pace of 10.24min/miles it was my longest run around Northallerton town centre
because I am training for the Great North Run. I finished the week with me
doing more running than walking again. Which takes my running, walking and
cycling to 73.41 and the miles so far to 1,158 miles
