The pyramid Session
The week started with me going to the club on Monday night, we did a
warm up as usual and a few bean bag games with some strides to do as well, we
then got into the session where Sonja had us in groups and we had to run down
to the Oak tree and then do 20 press ups 20 jump jack and 20 sit ups and then
sprinted back against the clock, we had to do this 3 times and we got faster
each time with the fastest been 2mins 20sec we did some 'endurance plank' and some stretches to cool
down. Rest on Tuesday just did some cross training on the bike and had a rest
from running. Back to the club on Wednesday we did a quick warm up then got
into the session where we did a pyramid session with 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 3, 2, 1min
and with 1 minutes rest in between each set of minutes I had a rest on Thursday
from running and did some cross training on the bike. I went out and did 10.44
miles on the bike in 45min which I was very happy with seen as I struggled a
few months ago to do 5 miles in under 30min so I have improved. I went out on
Friday for a 4 mile run just so I didn’t overdo it and I was feeling fresh for
Sunday race at Darlington. Because I have been training so hard since Christmas
to try and get under 60 min at Darlington 10k. I had a rest on Saturday from
running and just did some cross training on the bike more like 8miles
