With the time trial and long run looming this week I didn’t know how
this week was going to go. Wednesday came and I had a good run, did a PB Sunday
came and I wanted to dump the long run in the bin and not bother doing it but
with the London marathon I had to get my lazy butt out and just do it, well I
did it but it was mentally hard after 4 half week of but I haven’t lost any of
my fitness thank god.
Monday Harriers
I went to the running club we did a warm up as usual. Sonja went easy
on us tonight I think it was because it was Easter and it was the last training
session inside. So we had 2 tests to do, one to do with your bum and hamstrings
and the other test was doing one leg quart we also did a set of 6 circuits we
had to count how much we did on each exercise and on the second set we had to
try and beat our score which I did apart from one exercise which was less. Some
of the exercises were sit up and running step up we then did a cool down and
got some Easter egg to finish.
Tuesday 3 miles run
I am back on my marathon training plan now never too late I ran down to
the train station to meet my sister to give her a birthday card and ran back
the same way it was only a 3 miles run but I manage to do it under 30 min which
I was very happy with.
Wednesday Harriers/Time Trial
I went to the club where it was the time trial but before we could do
the boring 2 mile run we did a few warm up games with the basketball over,
under and twist plus we did 2 sets of circuits with the usual sit up, star jump
and the plank. We then ran down from the school to Lidl where we started from
it was an out and back course on Station Road. I set of at 2 min started
running down and I past Marian and the usual people I then caught Ken up and I
wanted to pass Christine so I finally caught her up and passed her which made
me happy until I heard foot step and couldn’t work out if was Christine or
someone else so I put a mad sprint on to the finish thanks to Fran. I did a PB
and my time was 17.08
Thursday Rest
The marathon training plan said rest so that what I did I had a rest
from running and did some cross training
Friday 4 miles
I went out on Friday afternoon and just did 4 miles flat run I did go
up Scholla to the first hill and turned around and came back home you can guess
I don’t like hills that much. I also had very tired legs from running hard and
fast on Wednesday night at the time trial I just got under 40 min

Saturday 30 Minutes Jog
I went out on Saturday and did a 30 min jog around the footpath in
Northallerton just to recover from all the extra hard training I have being
doing this week with no watch so I didn’t know how fast or slow I was going
Sunday 12 Miles Run Target Time
2hrs 12min
I went out on Sunday afternoon for my first long run in 4 half weeks I
was doing 12 miles how hard could it be to run that distance. Well I will tell
you it was mentally hard I felt like giving up at 3 and half miles and come
home because I was bored and the thought of doing 12 miles was just getting to
me and it felt like I had to climb a wall just to complete the run. Anyway I
did another 6 miles of running just around Northallerton then I stopped off at
home to get a drink of water and saw I only had 4 and a half miles which were
going to be tough going just had to find somewhere different to so I went up
Scholla for 1 mile and came back down and then took a different route back home
just to get my 12 miles in. I think the little chat I had with Ken Harker
worked wonders I managed to get under my target time of 2 hrs 12 min. I did in
2 hrs 7 min which made me very happy I didn’t feel stiff until I got up to go
bed and couldn’t walk that fast
