I got down to Thirsk with plenty of time before the race, so I got
changed at the Athletics club and had a jog down to the start which was was on
the flat I knew my start time and got in line so I didn’t miss my start time.
David Reed was setting people off and I got started and set off at a very good
pace catching a few people up you had start before me, I got a little rest
between some of the kissing gates, the next bit of the race which ran down the
A168 which seemed to go on for ever I caught up with most of the runners that
started before me so I thought I was in the top 5 but when I saw a marshall and
was informed that I was 3rd so just tried to keep that pace up back
to the finish then this Ilkey runner was catching me up and sat on my shoulder
alway the back to the finish and I put a mad sprint on the at the end and came
3rd in the handicap race which I was so over the mood that I won
something for the first time in 7 years of running.
