So the first week of February as been a big fat
zero miles due to this sprained ankle. So how did the week start, well I was in
two minds if to go running or not because my ankle seemed ok on Monday morning
but by 4pm my foot was hurting me and I had to sit down for 20min and when I
got home all I did was rest so yes I took the advice of some friends and had a
rest. I am glad I stayed at home because the session was hard and I wouldn’t
have done my ankle any favours. Tuesday was much of the same my ankle was ok on
the morning but by 4.30pm at work my ankle was hurting again so no running
again tonight another boring night of resting my foot. So by Wednesday my ankle
seem better today didn’t hurt at all for a change I was happy and thought,
"good I go run tonight" then I thought I don’t want to risk and make
it worse so had another rest, I still went to the club as I had a Thirsk 10
meeting and two my running friends passed a comment and said that they didn’t
believe I had a sprained ankle and I was making it up just to get out of
running because its getting harder on Monday and Wednesday nights now I have
been running 7 year and have always turned up to the running club because I
enjoy both sessions so why would I make up an injury just to get out of the running
club when I enjoy coming along to the club sessions so Thursday was my normal
rest day. Friday came my ankle was starting to feel better now but I still
didn’t want to risk a run so opted to go to the pub with some of the lads from
work for a pint. Saturday and guess what my ankle was hurting this morning
again so another day of resting and no cross country tomorrow at Richmond boo
might even have to have another week off. The only thing I have been doing is
using my foam roller to stretch out calves and hamstrings.
