I have had a good few weeks got plenty of miles in, did a hard session
on Monday with Sonja again another 30min circuits. I started to do a 3 miles
timed run around Northallerton my main aim is to get under 30 min and I did
33min so next week will be a challenge. I didn’t get to the club on Wednesday
as everyone that could have given me a lift to Thirsk were busy so I went out
and did a 5miles run in under 55 min no more running until Sunday where I only
did a 4miles run around Northallerton
I start the week of with no motivation and been tired so off to the club
on Monday for more punishment, which we did a warm up and then 30min hard core
circuits and some of the exercise where a minutes instead of the normal 30sec.
No running on Tuesday. Club with Greg on Wednesday where he took session are
just as hard as Monday night he seem to put you though your pace. Paul was away
on business so I took the session as Rob was losing his voice so we had a nice
hard session inside I just wish people would shut up and listen to instructions
I did my 3 miles time run and got under 30min my time was 28.44 which I was
very happy with next challenge is to get under 27min.
I am doing the Ossy 10km which is part of the hardmoor series and my
friend Fran is doing the half marathon. So she thought it would be a good idea
to do a reccy of the course the only down side was we picked the worst day
weather wise to do the social run there was high wind. Sub zero temps and
horizontal snow. One of the group ended up with hypothermia, but otherwise, the
run was great and it as put me off doing the race it only made me get better
prepared for race day so there was about 10 of us that turned up with two of us
new to running fell races the rest of the pack have all ran fell races we did re-group
at the beginning of the run or if we had to go a different way as I didn’t know
the course. I didn’t mind the hill just didn’t like the strong wind and the
downhill but the mud and snow didn’t put me off as I am used to running cross
country and you get all weather when you run around fields 4 time ha ha. I am
going to do a few more fell runs as I get bored of road race and some race are
becoming too expensive. Apart one member of the group the rest of us were
wearing the wrong stuff and most of them are experienced fell runners so I
should have known what to wear due to the weather condition I am up for more
fell running
Club on Monday with Sonja much of the same 30 min circuits of core work
very hard again as usual. Tired.com on Tuesday so no running just sat and had a
rest for a change. Back to the club on Wednesday for more punishment from Greg
but great news!!! He was away YAY so it was kind of easy or should I say Rob
circuits which are not really hard and then it was off to the time trial on Station
Road. I wasn’t going to do the time trial and help with the time keeping but
they had enough people so I ran instead and set of at 8.30 min so I was at the
back of the group but hey ho that didn’t bother me I just put the same effort
in as I would if I start at 2.30 min and ran with club member my time was 17.45
which was 32sec slow than in March 2013. No more running as I my foot and ankle
was hurting on Thursday and could barely walk same again on Friday so I made a
doctor appointment for Saturday and guess what they said that I had sprained my
ankle and need to rest so no night running in Dalby forest and no running
tomorrow I after to see what it like on Monday before running all I am going to
say is boo because I am enjoy the running at the minutes. I was close to
winning but lost in the last few day due to this sprained ankle I suppose there
always next month
